Rabbit Colony is still in it's temporary Phase 1 setup, but I'm learning quickly through trial and error, and the expertise of others, what works and what doesn't, and making changes accordingly.
I'm hosting a meetup tomorrow about raising BSFL (Black Soldier Fly Larvae) - a fantastic way to compost meat and other things that wouldn't be able to be composted with worms or put in a standard compost pile. I'll post a blog update on how that goes.
Both rows of rabbit cages have been moved, and the ends of the row blocked so that the poultry can still peck and scratch through spilled feed and manure, but the goats are denied access.
Now that both rows of cages are moved, I can remove the remaining pallets and cinder blocks, and begin shoveling all the packed down manure out of the area where the rabbitry roofing structure will go...and then remove all the nails from the salvaged deck wood - then I can start bugging Andy about pretty please building my rabbitry structure ;)
The barn cats are settling in really well, despite a brief rough patch with Mr G (love bites + kids = lightly injured frightened kids). With the help of our trusty CCD (Cat Control Device, aka water spray bottle), Mr G is learning to respect boundaries and rules, such as DON'T claw through the screen door, and DON'T yowl incessantly on the deck (or anywhere else for that matter). The little female cat, still nameless, is also relaxing a bit. Although she's clearly not feral either, she is very shy, and previously we would go days without even seeing her. Recently, she's hanging out with Mr G or by herself in the livestock yard, and will stay, though nervous, within sight as I go about my farm chores.
I've posted some updated videos to my YouTube channel:

And now, it's time to get back to work! ;)
