Our Family
We are a family of 4 (humans); myself, my husband Andy, our son Jacob, and our daughter Abby. Our extended kids are our dogs: a Pit/Dalmatian mix, Freya, and a Labrador/Cattle Dog mix, Loki. We also have a pride of cats, for, um, rodent control. Yeah, that's it, rodent control. *nervous giggle*
I'm a self proclaimed addict of all things farm and sustainability. I'm constantly learning, and getting hooked on projects that support these overall themes. I love researching, planning, and implementing those plans. Watching our micro farm develop is equally terrifying and exhilarating.
Andy is a Marine that has worked for Ford for 21 years. Although taking care of our animals is strictly my department, he is extremely supportive of my micro farming venture, and he helps by building rabbit hutches, chicken coops, raised garden beds, etc - which is especially fantastic because I'm a walking danger zone around power tools!
Jacob and Abby both love going out to the rabbit yard with me to check on our new litters of baby rabbits, and they both will periodically volunteer to come out and help feed and water the rabbits and chickens. When it comes to raking out hutches, or mucking out the coops, however, they are quick to find other, more appealing things to do ;)
